ANAH X IAHS 2021

Publication Design
2021

The third annual Intercollegiate Art History Symposium was hosted by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Chicago in collaboration with Artists Need Art Historians (ANAH). Our theme this year was Globalized Perceptions: Art History in the Age of Asynchronicity. The goal was to question why transnational or transcultural dialogues are integral. Six student presenters shared and brought research from different times and geographical locations in the world.

The stacked composition of spaces where different elements of texts and various shapes are separate represents sediment. Sedimentation is that materials of different eras gather in one place and make one form. Many kinds of elements create a pattern made of unique striped-layers over a long time. The work process in most fields during the pandemic is associated with sedimentation, as it is proceeded from different times and different locations throughout the world.

Artists Need Art Historians is the first academic journal started at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in partnership with the Department of Art History, Theory and Criticism at SAIC. We are a group of diverse undergraduate art scholars looking to enhance the interdepartmental conversation on Art.
